Hello! My name is Luca, and I’m the founder of Tours by Luca, your local expert for private Sicily tours and custom travel experiences across this beautiful island.

I was born in Catania, on the eastern coast of Sicily, and today I live in Francavilla di Sicilia, a small village surrounded by lemon trees and vineyards, just a few kilometers from Taormina, the crown jewel of Sicilian tourism. Growing up between the sea and Mount Etna, I learned to appreciate the beauty, traditions, and deep soul of this island — and I’ve dedicated my life to sharing it with visitors from all over the world.

My Story

After earning my accounting diploma in 1999, I served for ten months in the Italian Army, then worked in hospitality as a barman, pastry chef, and waiter. Everything changed when I met Sebastiano, the owner of a tourist transportation company in Taormina.

For the next 15 years, I worked with him, welcoming thousands of travelers — mainly from the United States — and helping them explore Sicily. That experience not only taught me English but also showed me how deeply people connect with this island — its food, its landscapes, and its warmth.

When the pandemic arrived, I decided it was time to start something of my own. I obtained my tour guide license and founded Tours by Luca, with one clear mission:
to offer authentic, tailor-made tours of Sicily, created with passion and personal care.
